Emergency Medicine Physician

About the role

The Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops is seeking an Emergency Medicine physician to join a collegial 32‑member team. The position offers both full‑time and part‑time options, with a focus on delivering high‑quality emergency and trauma care in a vibrant community surrounded by outdoor recreation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute emergency care to a diverse patient population in a tertiary‑care hospital serving ~250,000 residents.
• Participate in the High Acuity Response Team (HART) and act as Trauma Team Leader under the MOCAP contract when scheduled.
• Work approximately 14 shifts per month across the Emergency and Trauma programs.
• Engage in monthly journal clubs, quality rounds and trauma rounds, contributing to continuous learning and improvement.
• Teach and supervise medical students and residents during core rotations and electives.

Required profile

• Licensed physician eligible to work under an APP contract for emergency services and a MOCAP contract for trauma leadership.
• Willingness to work 14 shifts per month, with flexibility for full‑time or part‑time schedules.
