Emergency Medicine Physician (Full/Part-time)

About the role

The Fraser Canyon Department of Emergency Medicine is hiring a full‑time and/or part‑time physician (CCFP with or without additional EM training) to provide 24/7 emergency care at Fraser Canyon Hospital, a 16‑bed community facility located in Hope, BC.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver emergency stabilization, triage and initial management for patients arriving by ambulance or self‑referral.
• Provide on‑call coverage for the hospital’s 24/7 emergency department.
• Collaborate with nursing and allied health staff to ensure safe patient flow and appropriate disposition.
• Participate in community outreach and education related to emergency health services.

Required profile

• FRCPC (Emergency Medicine), CCFP‑EM, or ABEM certification.
• Eligibility for provisional licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC); CPSBC USA‑certified registration also acceptable.
• Commitment to serve a rural population and travelers on major highways.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
