Emergency Medicine Physician – Fraser Canyon Hospital

About the role

The Fraser Canyon Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a full‑time and/or part‑time physician (CCFP with or without additional EM training) to provide 24/7 emergency care at Fraser Canyon Hospital. This rural position is located in Hope, a scenic community two hours east of Vancouver, offering a unique blend of professional challenge and outdoor lifestyle.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver emergency stabilization, triage, and acute care around the clock.
• Manage a 16‑bed community hospital’s emergency department, including coordination with hospice services.
• Respond to emergencies involving travelers on major highways converging in the region.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality patient outcomes.

Required profile

• FRCPC (Emergency Medicine), CCFP‑EM, or ABEM certification.
• Eligibility for provisional licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC); CPSBC USA‑certified registration accepted.
• Current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications.
• Full or provisional CPSBC license.
