Emergency Medicine Physician – Community Hospital

About the role

Delta Hospital is seeking Emergency Medicine Physicians to join a collaborative community emergency department just outside Vancouver. You will practice high‑autonomy, full‑spectrum emergency medicine, caring for a diverse patient population in a supportive, low‑pace environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to patients of all ages, managing ~100 visits per day.
• Perform core procedures such as intubation, central line placement, chest tube insertion, and fracture management.
• Stabilize critically ill patients and coordinate transfers to regional tertiary centres.
• Collaborate with a close‑knit team of physicians, nurses, and specialists.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives and maintain departmental standards.

Required profile

• FRCPC‑EM or CCFP‑EM (preferred); ABEM‑certified physicians considered.
• Eligibility for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
• Current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS/APLS certifications.
• Strong procedural competence and ability to work independently.
• Experience in a community emergency setting is preferred.
