EMC/EMI System Engineer SME – Montreal, Canada (Full Relocation)

About the role

We are seeking a Spacecraft EMC Systems Engineer to lead EMC concept, analysis, verification and mitigation for multiple satellite programmes, ensuring an electrically clean and launch‑ready spacecraft.

Key responsibilities

• Capture, allocate and trace EMC functional, performance and requirements.
• Define the EMC architecture, including shielding strategy, grounding scheme, antenna placement and harness segregation.
• Perform whole‑spacecraft EMC analyses for radiated and conducted emission and susceptibility, and recommend mitigations such as shielding, filtering and layout rules.
• Review DC power distribution architecture and components for EMC/EMI compliance.
• Communicate technical status, risk assessments and trade‑study results to senior management and partners.
• Author the EMC Verification Master Plan, lead component, subsystem and full‑spacecraft tests, and certify results.
• Mentor junior engineers, provide EMC training and act as the EMC authority in design reviews.
• Participate in Change Control Boards, maintain documentation in PLM and support on‑orbit anomaly investigations.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace or Physics (M.Sc. preferred) with 10+ years of electrical design experience on LEO/MEO/GEO missions.
• Proven experience supervising EMC engineers or leading multidisciplinary task forces.
• Strong understanding of aerospace system engineering fundamentals and hands‑on integration testing.
• Experience with Confluence and JIRA.
• Excellent written and oral communication in English; French considered an asset.
