Elementary Teacher (Permanent, 1.0 FTE)

About the role

The District School Board Ontario North East is seeking a qualified Elementary Teacher for a new, full‑time permanent position at Diamond Jubilee Public School, starting August 31, 2026. The role involves delivering the Ontario curriculum to primary and junior students in a supportive, inclusive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess instruction for elementary grades in accordance with the Ontario curriculum.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students.
• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to support student achievement.
• Maintain accurate records, report on student progress, and participate in school-wide initiatives.
• Implement differentiated strategies, including special‑education accommodations when required.

Required profile

• Ontario College of Teachers accreditation.
• Primary/Junior teaching qualification (required).
• Special Education qualification (preferred).
• Ability to provide a Criminal Background Check with vulnerable sector screening prior to employment.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Ontario elementary curriculum and assessment practices.
• Classroom management and instructional planning.
• Effective communication with students, parents, and staff.
