Elementary Teacher (Long Term Occasional)

About the role

This position is for an Elementary Long‑Term Occasional (LTO) French Teacher at Cochrane Public School. The appointment runs from August 31, 2026 to June 25, 2027, or until the regular employee returns.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the French language curriculum to Primary, Junior and Intermediate students.
• Provide instruction in accordance with Ontario Ministry of Education standards.
• Support students with diverse learning needs, including special education requirements when applicable.
• Maintain classroom records, assess student progress, and communicate with parents and staff.
• Cover for absent staff as needed during the contract period.

Required profile

• Ontario College of Teachers accreditation.
• Primary/Junior/Intermediate teaching qualifications – required.
• French as a Second Language (FSL) qualifications – required.
• Special Education qualifications – preferred.

• Compensation range (A0‑A2): $54,016 – $100,146; (A3‑A4): $67,397 – $120,363 per year.
