Elementary Teacher – Junior School (Temporary)

About the role

Glenlyon Norfolk School is seeking an enthusiastic Elementary Teacher to join its Junior School team on a temporary, full‑time basis starting August 2026. The role supports an International Baccalaureate (IB) learning environment that blends the BC curriculum with inquiry‑based, student‑centred instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver IB units that integrate BC curriculum standards for literacy and numeracy.
• Provide high‑level pastoral care and support students’ academic, co‑curricular, and personal growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design engaging, differentiated learning experiences.
• Contribute actively to the school’s extensive co‑curricular programs.
• Maintain a reflective practice and stay current with best practices in elementary pedagogy.

Required profile

• Valid British Columbia teaching certificate.
• Strong experience teaching literacy and numeracy across multiple grade levels.
• IB training and PYP experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Student‑centred, inquiry‑based approach with a growth mindset.
• Commitment to continuous professional learning and inclusive education.
