Elementary Long-Term Occasional Teacher – Grade 4/1

About the role

The Renfrew County District School Board is hiring an Elementary Long‑Term Occasional (LTO) teacher for Grade 4 and Grade 1 at Mackenzie Community School in Deep River. This full‑time (100 % FTE) position runs from September 1 2026 to June 28 2027, or until the incumbent returns.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess the Ontario elementary curriculum for Grade 4 and Grade 1.
• Create a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff and administration.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development and board initiatives.
• Supervise students during non‑instructional times and school events.

Required profile

• Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.
• Primary and Junior teaching qualifications.
• Valid Ontario teaching certificate.
• Eligibility for a vulnerable sector screening criminal background check.
• Ability to work onsite in Deep River.
