Elementary Grade 3 Long-Term Occasional Teacher (Full-time)

About the role

The York Region District School Board is seeking a qualified educator to fill a Grade 3 homeroom position on a Long‑Term Occasional (LTO) basis, full‑time. The appointment may be extended through June 2027, providing continuity for students and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess the Grade 3 curriculum in accordance with Ontario education standards.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that supports diverse learners.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to enhance student achievement.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessment results.
• Participate in professional development activities and school events as required.

Required profile

• Member in good standing of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or in the process of obtaining OCT certification before the start date.
• Three professional teaching references (including at least one YRDSB administrator for internal candidates).
• Successful completion of a satisfactory police record check.
• Commitment to the values and mission of public education in Ontario.
