Electrician – Mining Equipment

About the role

Sandvik Mining is looking for a certified Electrician to join its Winnipeg team. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical and mechanical components of mining equipment according to defined specifications. The successful candidate will work on high‑ and low‑voltage assemblies and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Follow scopes of work to meet established delivery targets.
• Install high/low voltage assemblies into mobile equipment.
• Inspect equipment for proper performance, diagnose faults and malfunctions.
• Adjust, repair or replace defective parts, components or systems according to scopes of work.
• Identify additional repairs, compile parts and labor estimates and communicate to supervisor.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance.
• Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, parts listings and submit drawing revisions.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and stay current with industry best practices.

Required profile

• Valid Certified Electrician licence.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
• Previous experience with Sandvik equipment considered an asset.
• Strong ability to read electrical diagrams.
• Proven diagnostic and problem‑solving skills for mining equipment.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Valid driver’s licence with reliable vehicle.
• Eligibility to work legally in Canada.
