Electrical Product Engineer

About the role

Honda of Canada Manufacturing is seeking an Electrical Product Engineer to join its New Model electrical systems team. You will work on design, testing, and harness development for upcoming vehicle models, driving problem‑solving activities from root‑cause analysis to final validation.

Key responsibilities

• Confirm new‑model designs and design changes.
• Lead complex design investigations for new‑model and mass‑production vehicles.
• Analyze market warranty claims, contain issues, and develop countermeasures.
• Develop and execute test methods for advanced vehicle electrical systems.
• Serve as liaison between HCM, R&D, and Service departments.
• Compile data, analyse trends, and interpret vehicle problem data to drive corrective actions.
• Prepare and present technical and testing documentation.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary technical degree or diploma, or minimum three years of related experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and strong data‑management abilities.
• Experience developing, integrating, or validating software for automotive systems.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on short notice.
• Flexibility to work overtime, scheduled shutdowns, and rotating shifts.
• Valid ‘G’ driver’s licence and ability to support Genba activities.

Required skills

• Electrical systems knowledge.
• Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
• Automotive software development/integration/validation.
• Use of digital multimeter, oscilloscope, and spectrum analyzer.
