Education Assistant (EPE) – Permanent Part‑time

About the role

The Elk Island Public Schools are seeking a permanent part‑time Education Assistant (EPE) to support the PALS (Play and Learn at School) program at École Parc Élémentaire. This role involves assisting teachers in delivering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for children aged three to five with mild to moderate developmental delays.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in creating a welcoming, safe, and caring classroom environment.
• Provide student supervision and support personal, physical, and medical care needs.
• Support implementation of developmental and behavioural strategies as directed by teachers.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team planning for the PALS early‑intervention program.
• Assist with instructional and non‑instructional tasks during classroom activities and school events.

Required profile

• Education Assistant Certificate or comparable qualification.
• Experience working with children aged 3‑5 with mild to moderate developmental delays is preferred.
• Ability to follow directions from teachers and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to supporting a French Immersion learning community.

Required skills

• Knowledge of play‑based learning and literacy‑rich environments.
• Understanding of developmental and behavioural support strategies.
