EDI/I Specialist – Indigenous & Equity Programs

About the role

The Faculty of Land and Food Systems at the University of British Columbia seeks an EDI/I Specialist to lead Indigenous and equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives across the faculty. This part‑time position works closely with the Associate Dean, Student‑EDI/I, to advance strategic goals for a more inclusive academic community.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and manage faculty‑wide Indigenous and EDI programs, events, and outreach activities.
• Implement initiatives that align with the Faculty’s and University’s strategic Indigenous and EDI objectives.
• Collaborate with the Associate Dean, Student‑EDI/I, the EDI/I Senior Manager, Indigenous Academic Advisor, and research support teams.
• Provide guidance and support to academic units, research centres, and community partners.
• Monitor program effectiveness and report on progress to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering equity, diversity, and inclusion programs, preferably in a post‑secondary setting.
• Strong knowledge of Indigenous issues and cultural competencies.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and external communities.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
