Early Childhood Educator

About the role

The University of British Columbia Okanagan Child Care Centre is seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join its full‑time team. You will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, supporting their development within a licensed group childcare setting.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate age‑appropriate learning activities and curricula.
• Supervise and engage children, ensuring their safety and well‑being at all times.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, observations, and developmental progress.
• Collaborate with fellow educators, the Senior Early Childhood Educator, and the Program Manager to deliver consistent, high‑quality care.
• Communicate regularly with families, providing updates on children’s experiences and addressing any concerns.
• Adapt teaching approaches to reflect diverse cultural backgrounds and pedagogical practices.

Required profile

• Current BC Early Childhood Educator certification.
• Current Emergency Child Care First Aid certification.
• Clear Criminal Record Check.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Organized, patient, and capable of exercising sound judgment.
• Creative problem‑solving attitude.
