Early Childhood Education Worker

About the role

Regina Eastview Daycare is seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Education Worker to provide high‑quality care and learning experiences for infants and toddlers. You will support the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children in a vibrant, urban daycare setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist co‑workers with housekeeping and cooking duties.
• Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers.
• Develop and implement child‑care programs that promote holistic development.
• Maintain daycare equipment and ensure a safe, clean environment.
• Lead storytelling, songs and craft activities.
• Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers and coordinate their activities.
• Communicate children’s progress and any concerns to parents.
• Order supplies, keep records and prepare snacks and room arrangements.
• Observe children for learning or behavioural issues and prepare reports.
• Attend staff meetings, enforce licensing regulations and health‑safety guidelines.
• Plan and organise activities for school‑age children before and after regular school hours.
• Administer first aid and support children with special needs.

Required profile

• College, CEGEP or other non‑university certificate/diploma (1‑2 years) in early childhood education or related field.
• Certificates: Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1), Child Development Worker (ECE Level 2), Child Development Supervisor (ECE Level 3), Early Childhood Education Certificate, First Aid and CPR.
• 1 to 2 years of experience working with infants, toddlers or school‑age children.
• Ability to work with children who have visual, hearing, physical, intellectual, behavioural, or health challenges (e.g., ADHD, Down syndrome, asthma, diabetes).
• Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
• Own transportation and ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting, bending, standing, walking).
• Strong interpersonal skills, punctuality, reliability and teamwork orientation.
