Drywall Finisher – Construction Specialist

About the role

Star Shadow Construction Ltd. is seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher to join its Edmonton team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of interior finishing projects, ensuring high‑quality surfaces and precise installation of ceiling systems.

Key responsibilities

• Apply successive coats of joint compound, sand seams and joints, and smooth excess material.
• Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
• Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids, placing panels to create acoustical and coffered ceilings.
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks using trowels and broad knives.
• Measure, cut, fit, and secure drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs and joists.
• Use a taping machine to embed tape in compound and tape over joints.

Required profile

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• 2 to less than 3 years of hands‑on drywall finishing experience.

Required skills

• Joint compound application and sanding.
• Metal corner bead installation.
• Suspended metal ceiling grid fabrication and installation.
• Drywall sheet measurement, cutting, and fastening.
• Taping machine operation.
