Dock Worker - Timmins

About the role

Manitoulin Transport, part of the Manitoulin Group of Companies, is hiring a full-time dock worker in Timmins. The company operates an extensive transportation network across Canada and relies on dock workers to unload freight from trailers and load outbound trailers. The position is Tuesday to Saturday day shift.

Key responsibilities

• Unload freight from trailers and load outbound trailers using electronic devices
• Mark materials with identifying information
• Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed
• Count items and, when required, weigh them to confirm they match the shipper's bill of lading
• Start heaters and placard trailers as required
• Arrange freight in the specified sequence to maximize trailer space
• Help keep the warehouse safe and clean by sweeping the floor and storing dunnage properly
• Other duties may be assigned

Required profile

• Forklift experience
• Able to lift 50 lbs, sometimes repetitively
• Problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making and judgment skills
• Ability to multitask and manage several tasks at once
• Ability to use the company's internal computer systems
• Willingness to train the right applicant
