District Chef - Braven, Kindred, Alchemy, Lobby Bar

About the role

JW Marriott Edmonton is looking for a District Chef to lead culinary operations across Braven, Kindred, Alchemy and the Lobby Bar. The role provides strategic culinary leadership across several restaurant locations, working with Chefs de Cuisine and culinary teams to uphold food quality, consistency and guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Set culinary priorities and standards across the district and partner with Executive Chefs and Chefs de Cuisine on day-to-day operations
• Develop menus, oversee recipe execution, portioning and presentation, and respond to guest feedback
• Manage food and labour costs, purchasing, inventory, waste and budgeting, and review financial results regularly
• Mentor, coach and hire Chefs de Cuisine, handle onboarding and training, and develop high-potential talent
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation requirements and represent the brand at events and tastings

Required profile

• 7-10 years of progressive culinary leadership, including an Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine or comparable role
• Experience leading senior culinary teams in a high-volume restaurant, hospitality or catering setting
• Post-secondary education in Culinary Arts Management, Hospitality or a related field
• Food Handler certification required; Red Seal certification an asset
• Available evenings, weekends and holidays; legally eligible to work in Canada

• Menu development, recipe costing, purchasing and inventory management
• Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Strong business acumen, leadership, coaching and people-management skills
