Distribution Centre Lead

About the role

WestJet is looking for a Distribution Centre Lead to oversee daily operations at its Calgary distribution centre. The role ensures a reliable supply of onboard products to third‑party catering partners, managing inventory flow, quality control, and team performance.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate inventory flow, replenishment, and warehouse activities to meet on‑time shipment targets and product fill rates.
• Provide operational input for purchasing and inventory decisions based on capacity, storage utilization, and workflow requirements.
• Plan and execute inventory transitions for seasonal and new product introductions, minimizing obsolete stock.
• Manage core warehouse processes including receiving, storage, picking, shipping, audits, rotation, and product control.
• Maintain bonded‑warehouse compliance through accurate handling, tracking, documentation, and control of inventory.
• Monitor warehouse KPIs, identify improvement opportunities, and support space‑optimization and dead‑stock reduction initiatives.
• Lead daily shift briefings to communicate priorities, workload, updates, and safety expectations to the team.

Required profile

• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven experience in warehouse operations, logistics, and team leadership.
• Proactive, self‑starting attitude with the capacity to build effective internal and external relationships.
