Director of Transportation

About the role

The Director of Transportation will lead all transportation operations for Kuthala Transport, a division of KUTHALA GROUP, based in Georgetown, ON. This full‑time, on‑site position is responsible for planning, executing, and continuously improving daily trucking activities across truckload, LTL, intermodal, and trans‑border services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and manage routing, scheduling, dispatch, and load‑optimization processes.
• Ensure compliance with North‑American transportation regulations, safety standards, and cross‑border requirements.
• Oversee fleet performance, maintenance coordination, and asset utilization.
• Develop and control transportation budgets, monitor KPIs, and drive profitability.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to resolve service issues and support strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Several years of progressive leadership experience in transportation, logistics, or supply‑chain management, preferably in trucking or fleet‑based operations.
• Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and cross‑border compliance.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, analyze financial performance, and meet profitability targets.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities.
• Effective communication and people‑management skills to lead diverse teams.
