Director of Supply Chain

About the role

The Director of Supply Chain reports directly to the CEO and provides strategic leadership for OPA!’s supply chain across Canada. This senior role oversees procurement, sourcing, logistics, distribution, and inventory management to ensure product quality, supply continuity, and cost efficiency for both corporate and franchise restaurants.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute national supply chain strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
• Lead procurement, sourcing, logistics, and distribution initiatives across the OPA! system.
• Drive continuous‑improvement projects focused on operational efficiency, food‑cost management, service levels, and product quality.
• Monitor commodity markets, supply risks, and industry trends to proactively manage cost pressures.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, rebates, and supplier agreements while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
• Evaluate supplier performance on pricing, quality, service, and delivery standards.
• Oversee inventory planning and supply coordination for restaurants nationwide.
• Support new restaurant openings, product launches, promotional initiatives, and menu innovation projects.
• Collaborate with Operations, Culinary, Finance, and Marketing teams to align supply chain initiatives with business goals.
• Monitor food costs, freight expenses, and supply chain performance metrics; identify opportunities to improve margins and reduce waste.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in multi‑unit restaurant, quick‑service, or food‑service environments.
• Strong analytical capabilities with a track record of data‑driven decision making.
• Excellent relationship‑management skills with suppliers, distributors, and franchisees.
• Ability to develop scalable processes that support long‑term business growth.
• Hands‑on, collaborative approach to working with cross‑functional teams.
