Director of Retail Operations

About the role

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul of Vancouver Island is seeking an experienced leader to direct its thrift‑store and warehouse network. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will shape strategy, drive revenue growth and ensure operational sustainability across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight for all retail and warehouse locations, ensuring consistent policies, procedures and customer service standards.
• Monitor sales, donations, inventory levels and key performance indicators to guide continuous improvement.
• Develop and execute multi‑year operational plans, growth initiatives and capital investment strategies.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial performance analysis for the retail portfolio.
• Collaborate with Human Resources and volunteer coordinators to recruit, develop and retain staff and volunteers.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership experience in retail, warehouse, logistics or multi‑site operations.
• Post‑secondary education in business, retail management or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven ability in strategic planning, budgeting, financial oversight and operational management.
• Strong communication, relationship‑building and decision‑making skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using retail point‑of‑sale systems.
