About the role
The College of Pharmacists of BC (CPBC) is seeking a senior leader to direct its Policy, Standards and Practice (PSP) function. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the Director will shape the regulatory framework that ensures safe, ethical and competent pharmacy practice across British Columbia.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the strategic and operational priorities of the PSP division.
- Develop, modernise and maintain bylaws, standards, policies and guidance supporting CPBC’s public protection mandate.
- Oversee a multidisciplinary team responsible for policy development, regulatory analysis and stakeholder engagement.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external partners, including health regulators, Indigenous groups and professional bodies.
- Provide leadership on alternative dispute‑resolution mechanisms and Indigenous partnership initiatives.
- Ensure alignment of regulatory activities with CPBC’s diversity, equity and inclusion commitments.
Required profile
- Graduate degree in a policy‑related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in policy development, program oversight, regulation or public policy.
- Demonstrated experience in health‑sector regulation or a comparable regulatory environment.
- Strong stakeholder‑engagement and leadership capabilities.
- Commitment to cultural safety, Indigenous partnership and DEI principles.
