Director of Operations – Clinical Research & Innovative Medicine

About the role

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre is seeking a senior leader to direct the operations of its Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM). Reporting to both the Director of Clinical Research and the Chief Operating Officer, the role will shape the institute’s clinical research strategy and ensure high‑quality service delivery to investigators and industry partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic planning and operational leadership for the CIM.
• Build, lead and develop high‑performing teams that support clinical research excellence.
• Oversee financial stewardship, budget negotiations and ensure long‑term sustainability of CIM operations.
• Lead the development, integration and optimisation of clinical research platforms and services.
• Foster internal and external partnerships to advance the institute’s clinical research agenda.
• Manage multicentre trial projects, technical platforms and research operations across the MUHC.
• Implement the CIM strategic plan and support organisational change initiatives aligned with the institute’s vision.
