Director of Operations – Clinical Research & Centre for Innovative Medicine

About the role

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) seeks a senior leader to direct operations of its Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM). Reporting to both the Director of Clinical Research and the Chief Operating Officer, the incumbent will shape strategy, oversee daily operations, and foster partnerships across the Institute’s clinical research ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic planning and operational leadership for the CIM.
• Build, lead, and develop high‑performing teams that deliver clinical research excellence.
• Ensure financial stewardship, budget negotiations, and long‑term sustainability of CIM operations.
• Lead integration and optimization of clinical research platforms and services.
• Manage project execution of multicenter trials, technical platforms, and research operations.
• Develop and maintain strong internal and external partnerships with industry and academic stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading clinical research operations or similar complex research environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, regulatory compliance, and large multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in strategic planning, change management, and partnership development.
