Director of IT and Security (Healthcare)

About the role

The Director, Information Technology and Security will lead Holland Bloorview’s technology and security portfolio during a period of transformative change. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this senior leader will ensure that IT infrastructure and cybersecurity practices enable the hospital’s Learning Health System and its 2030 strategic plan.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously optimise IT infrastructure and cybersecurity to support clinical, research and educational functions.
• Oversee enterprise systems, security governance and emerging technologies such as virtual care, AI and precision health.
• Manage a multi‑million‑dollar budget and vendor relationships.
• Lead a high‑performing technical team, fostering a culture of learning and security awareness.
• Ensure technology acts as a strategic enabler of patient care, research excellence and family‑centred services.

Required profile

• Proven senior technology leader with deep experience in IT infrastructure and cybersecurity within healthcare or similarly complex environments.
• Track record of managing enterprise‑scale systems, mitigating cyber risk and translating digital strategies into measurable outcomes.
• Advanced knowledge of security frameworks and certifications such as CISSP.
• Strong collaborative and strategic thinking abilities, capable of building relationships across clinical, research and administrative teams.
• Experience managing large budgets, vendor partnerships and leading inclusive, high‑performing teams.
