Director of Communications Planning

About the role

We are seeking a Director of Communications Planning to lead integrated communications strategy for a major CPG client within a social‑first agency model. The role blends strategic insight, cultural fluency, and cross‑functional collaboration to create relevance‑driven campaigns that capture attention and drive measurable business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Own communications planning for the account, shaping full‑funnel, cross‑channel strategies across campaigns, launches, and always‑on activity.
• Partner closely with creative, media, and analytics teams to ensure ideas are strategically sound and built to earn attention in‑market.
• Identify emerging cultural signals in real time and translate them into strategic and creative opportunities.
• Define the role of paid, owned, earned, and creator channels, ensuring each strategy is rooted in clear, defensible insight.
• Build communications architectures that reflect how audiences discover, engage, and act.
• Contribute to the development of creative territories, content systems, and channel‑native executions.
• Bridge media strategy and execution, driving integration across functions.
• Collaborate with Director‑ and VP‑level leaders in media and analytics to translate strategy into actionable plans.

Required profile

• Deep, instinctive understanding of culture with the ability to recognize and act on real‑time cultural shifts.
• Experience embedding within cultural conversations rather than relying solely on traditional research.
• Strong collaborative mindset; comfortable working hands‑on with creative, media, and analytics teams.
