Director, Marketing and Communications

About the role

Cortland Credit Group, a leading Canadian alternative asset manager, is seeking a Director of Marketing and Communications to shape and execute its content strategy. Based in the Toronto office, you will lead the creation and distribution of marketing materials that drive sales, attract new investors, and strengthen the brand among advisors and investors.

Key responsibilities

• Define the overall vision, strategy, and direction for marketing content across multiple platforms.
• Lead the end‑to‑end development of content—from concept through execution and performance measurement.
• Collaborate closely with Portfolio Management and Business Development to align content with business priorities.
• Translate business goals into a long‑term content plan and secure senior‑management buy‑in.
• Present content strategy recommendations to executives and influence decision‑making.
• Ensure all materials comply with regulatory requirements and receive CCO approval before external distribution.
• Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive insights to keep the content relevant.

Required profile

• University degree in business, finance or a related field; CSC or CAIA designation is a plus.
• 5‑10 years of marketing and communications experience within the investment industry.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with strong copywriting and editorial abilities.
• Self‑starter with a proven track record of driving high‑value marketing initiatives.
