Director, Formulation Sales

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Formulation Sales to lead the commercialization of breakthrough, science‑backed beauty formulations. Based in San Diego (remote possible), you will drive new brand partnerships and expand Debut’s formulation pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct heavy outbound prospecting to secure new beauty brand partnerships.
• Identify and pursue new projects within accounts to accelerate revenue growth.
• Own the full commercial process from initial contact through qualification, proposal, negotiation, award and purchase order.
• Build and maintain relationships with key decision‑makers in R&D, product development, marketing and executive leadership.
• Leverage existing industry networks to generate immediate opportunities for advanced formulations.
• Develop and manage a robust pipeline, ensuring consistent progression toward conversion.
• Articulate Debut’s competitive positioning and value proposition to win custom and white‑label formulation business.
• Support pricing discussions and contract negotiations in partnership with leadership.

Required profile

• Proven track record in commercial sales within the beauty, cosmetics or biotechnology sectors.
• Extensive industry relationships and ability to open doors with senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success in managing the end‑to‑end sales cycle, from prospecting to closed deal.
• Strong understanding of product development timelines and formulation planning cycles.
