Director, Business Development

About the role

Mastercard Canada is looking for a Director of Business Development to lead growth initiatives within its Fintech & Ecosystem Enablement team. You will be responsible for expanding Mastercard’s presence across the Canadian fintech landscape, working closely with internal product, technology, marketing, finance, and legal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own and grow a portfolio of fintech partners, driving new business and ongoing account expansion.
• Build senior‑level relationships and position Mastercard as a trusted strategic partner.
• Develop and execute account strategies, translating partner needs into growth plans and revenue opportunities.
• Lead end‑to‑end deal execution, including business case development, commercial structuring, negotiations, and contract management.
• Apply consultative selling to educate partners on Mastercard’s ecosystem and originate new opportunities.
• Collaborate with local and global teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Develop the fintech ecosystem by building relationships with platforms, processors, incubators, and accelerators.

Required profile

• Proven ability to thrive in fast‑paced, dynamic environments while balancing multiple priorities.
• Strong business acumen with a track record of delivering results in business development or account management.
• Experience working with fintech partners, payments, or related financial services.
