Dietary Aide – Part‑Time (Long Term Care)

About the role

The County of Lambton is seeking a part‑time Dietary Aide to provide nutritious meals to residents of its long‑term care homes. You will ensure meals are prepared and served according to individual dietary regulations, maintain a clean dining environment, and support food inventory and ordering processes.

Key responsibilities

• Set up breakfast stations with cold cereals, juices, and milk.
• Serve hot meals and beverages, adhering to special diet requirements.
• Prepare and stock snack carts and adjust menus when needed.
• Clear dishes, wipe tables, and reset dining areas with cutlery and glasses.
• Clean and restock refrigerators, freezers, and storage rooms.
• Manage inventory: determine product needs, receive deliveries, sort, store, and track orders.
• Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, taking messages, and tracking orders.
• Stay current with relevant legislation, collective agreements, and County policies.

Required profile

• Completion of Grade 10.
• Food Handler’s Certificate.
• Enrollment in or completion of a Food Service Worker program (college certificate).
• Physical ability to perform the duties outlined in the position’s Physical Demands Analysis.
• Ability to work independently with occasional guidance.
