Diabetes Clinical Research Coordinator (DCRC)

About the role

The Diabetes Clinical Research Coordinator (DCRC) will support longitudinal clinical research in the Panagiotopoulos and Devlin laboratories, focusing on childhood diabetes, cardiometabolic complications, and obesity. The role requires ethical conduct of research, strict confidentiality, and accountability to the Principal Investigators.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit ethics applications, amendments, and study closures using the UBC RISe system.
• Recruit study participants, collect clinical data, and enter data into study databases.
• Track budgets, process financial transactions, and manage research accounts in Workday.
• Maintain REB records, study binders, and ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice standards.
• Liaise with the University/Industry Liaison Office, finance managers, and external collaborators across Canada and internationally.
• Process blood samples for biobanking and perform other laboratory tasks as required.

Required profile

• Completion of a relevant technical program or university degree with a minimum of three years related experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion and ability to respect diverse perspectives.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to work independently and within a team.

Required skills

• Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Experience with REDCap, Workday, and UBC RISe database systems.
• General database management proficiency.
