DevOps (SRE) Engineer

About the role

Join Bounce as its first dedicated DevOps Engineer, responsible for designing, building, and scaling the cloud infrastructure that powers Canada’s next‑generation payment platform. You will own the AWS environment, developer experience, CI/CD pipelines, and production operations, ensuring the platform is secure, resilient, and ready for rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve AWS infrastructure for high availability, scalability, and real‑time financial transaction processing.
• Improve production reliability through observability, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and automated self‑healing mechanisms.
• Own CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and tooling that enable developers to ship safely and frequently.
• Integrate security and compliance controls directly into infrastructure and prepare the platform for Canada’s Real‑Time Rail (RTR) requirements.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of hands‑on cloud infrastructure experience (intermediate) or 5+ years (senior).
• Strong experience with AWS and Kubernetes (EKS preferred).
• Proficiency in TypeScript and experience managing production services.
• Demonstrated ability to build CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
• Solid understanding of observability, monitoring, and incident management.
• Startup mindset with strong ownership and a focus on reliability.
