DevOps Engineer – Azure & Terraform (Contract)

About the role

PLATO is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a centralized team that supports multiple product and data streams. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure in a modern Microsoft Azure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines for infrastructure, Power Platform, data platforms, and test automation.
• Implement environment‑based release strategies with approvals, quality gates, and rollback mechanisms.
• Create reusable pipeline templates and integrate automated testing, security scanning, and compliance checks.
• Advise teams on Git workflows, branching strategies, and deployment best practices.
• Develop and maintain Terraform‑based infrastructure as code, enforcing governance standards.
• Support Power Platform ALM, Azure Data Factory, and Microsoft Fabric deployments.
• Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and architecture reviews.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Repos, Boards, Artifacts).
• Strong knowledge of Azure services including networking, compute, storage, IAM, Key Vault, and PaaS.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Experience with Terraform and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
• Current Government of Canada Reliability security clearance or higher.
