Detailing Trainee (6‑Month Term)

About the role

JMT Consultants Inc. is seeking a motivated Detailing Trainee for a six‑month fixed‑term contract in Winnipeg. You will work closely with project managers, estimators, and senior detailers to produce accurate steel detailing using Tekla Structures while following company standards and industry manuals.

Key responsibilities

• Complete all reading, video assignments, training models and quizzes provided by the trainer.
• Study resource material in the JMT Knowledge Base, focusing on Detailing Standards, Steel Procedures, and Tekla Support sections.
• Become familiar with the AISC Steel Construction Manual and the Detailing for Steel Construction Manual.
• Participate in group discussions, ask questions, and actively engage in your own learning process.

Required profile

• Strong drive and initiative to learn a new career path in steel detailing.
• Relevant diploma, certificate or related work experience is an asset.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
• Quick learner with a keen eye for detail and ability to juggle multiple tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Tekla Structures software.
• Knowledge of steel detailing standards, including the AISC Steel Construction Manual.
