Design Engineering Mechanical Systems Engineer / Specialist

About the role

General Dynamics Land Systems – Canada is seeking a motivated Design Engineering Mechanical Systems Engineer / Specialist to join its product development team. You will be responsible for full‑life‑cycle design of mechanical subsystems, ensuring fit, form and functionality while meeting stringent customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Execute component and assembly level design tasks across assigned subsystems and report progress to the supervisor.
• Conduct peer reviews of designs with technical leads or mentors.
• Support test planning, execution, and reporting under the guidance of test leads.
• Develop and validate designs for hull additions, hull structures, mobility, propulsion, and survivability domains.
• Perform mine‑blast and threat modeling using LS‑Dyna and other analysis tools.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in mechanical systems design for land vehicles or similar platforms.
• Ability to work independently and solve complex design challenges.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• LS‑Dyna for blast and threat simulations.

• Base salary range $60,000 – $92,400 CAD per year.
