Design Engineer (P. Eng.) – Structural Design

About the role

We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer to lead structural design projects for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional buildings affected by disaster events. The role involves delivering high‑quality design solutions, collaborating closely with drafting teams and project managers, and ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all phases of structural design for complex restoration and renovation projects.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, building owners and officials to resolve technical issues.
• Conduct on‑site measurements, create rough sketches and develop detailed Revit models.
• Research failure modes, code requirements and generate permit drawings.
• Review and provide feedback on drafts to maintain quality and consistency.
• Ensure team follows safety protocols and receives appropriate training.
• Identify process improvements and support continuous departmental efficiency.

Required profile

• University degree in civil or structural engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
• Proven experience in structural design of damaged or disaster‑impacted buildings.
• Strong communication skills and ability to act as liaison with multiple stakeholders.
