Design Engineer – Nacelles

About the role

M1 Composites is seeking a Design Engineer focused on nacelle structures to join its aerospace engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will contribute to the design, repair, and continuous improvement of composite and sheet‑metal components that are critical to aircraft performance and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Create and update engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation using CAD tools.
• Apply established engineering principles to support structural design, repairs, and minor modifications.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure engineering data is accurate, complete, and compliant.
• Support nacelle‑specific activities, including fan cowls, inlets, thrust reversers, fairings, and acoustic panels.
• Perform basic structural assessments, calculations, and prepare substantiation documentation.
• Collaborate with Production and Quality to ensure designs are practical for shop‑floor execution.
• Assist with investigations of non‑conformances and in‑service findings.
• Contribute to standard repair development, best‑practice engineering, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or MRO environments.
• Experience with aircraft structures and preferably nacelle systems.
• Ability to work independently on defined tasks with strong attention to detail.
• Bilingual in French and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CATIA V5 and CATIA V6.
• Experience using NX or SolidWorks.
• Working knowledge of aerospace materials and basic structural concepts.
• Familiarity with engineering documentation and configuration control.
