Deputy Program Manager – Engineering Projects

About the role

Northumberland Ferries Limited is looking for a highly organized Deputy Program Manager to support engineering program execution across its marine operations. The role will work closely with the VP Engineering and cross‑functional teams to ensure consistent project and quality management practices for vessels, terminals, and capital projects throughout Atlantic Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of standardized project‑ and quality‑management practices.
• Assist in tracking, reporting and coordinating engineering initiatives and capital programs.
• Administer internal programs such as E1, E2 and Charter Offsets.
• Monitor engineering budgets, maintain long‑range maintenance plans and coordinate with Transport Canada.
• Manage assigned engineering or capital projects, including contract administration.
• Maintain engineering documentation on SharePoint and Compass intranet platforms.
• Oversee documentation quality for vessels and terminals and support maintenance‑management system improvements.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience in marine engineering, project management or quality management.
• Proven experience supporting or managing technical engineering projects.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar quality‑management certification is an asset.
• Experience in the marine or maritime industry preferred.
• Strong organizational and administrative abilities with capacity to manage multiple tasks.
