Department Supervisor – Retail Management

About the role

As a member of the store’s Management Team, the Department Supervisor leads a retail department, ensuring efficient operations, friendly and informed staff, and high customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will oversee daily activities, maintain visual standards, and drive performance in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Foster a culture of excellent customer service and maintain department presentation standards.
• Train, supervise, coach, motivate and support team members in their daily operations.
• Manage performance, provide feedback, recognize achievements and handle scheduling.
• Assist with store opening and closing duties and orient new employees.
• Resolve customer and employee issues while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Supervisory, leadership or managerial experience in a retail setting.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand, walk and lift items for extended periods.
• Strong communication, organization and problem‑solving skills.
• Capability to plan, delegate and follow up on team activities.
