Department Manager (Retail)

About the role

Atlantic Superstore is seeking a motivated Department Manager to lead a specific department in its New Minas store. You will be responsible for driving sales, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining operational standards within a dynamic retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily department operations and ensure sales and profitability targets are met.
• Train, coach, and develop associates on product knowledge, merchandising, and customer service.
• Maintain proper stock levels, accurate pricing, and attractive product displays.
• Monitor inventory, coordinate replenishment, and manage departmental expenses.
• Collaborate with store management and other department heads to achieve overall store goals.
• Identify and recruit talent to strengthen the team.
• Uphold safety, cleanliness, and compliance standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
• Previous retail management experience, preferably in a departmental or specialty store.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand for extended periods.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
