Department Manager

About the role

We are looking for a full‑time Department Manager to lead our Hamilton, ON store’s department. This hands‑on, on‑site position oversees daily operations, inventory, product quality and customer service, ensuring a safe and organized shopping environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day department operations and staff scheduling.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels and reduce waste.
• Ensure product quality, health‑safety compliance and store cleanliness.
• Drive sales performance and achieve departmental targets.
• Train, coach and motivate team members to deliver exemplary customer service.
• Implement company policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising teams and fostering collaboration.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Solid organizational skills with experience in inventory and sales management.
• Problem‑solving and analytical thinking to improve performance.
• Retail or grocery management background is an asset.
• Knowledge of health, safety and food‑safety regulations.
• Adaptability to a fast‑paced environment.
• Post‑secondary education in retail management or business preferred.
