Deli Sales/Service Clerk (Tier II)

About the role

Join Safeway’s deli team in Winnipeg and deliver a welcoming experience to customers. You will prepare fresh sandwiches, salads, hot foods and specialty trays while keeping the deli area clean, organized and fully stocked.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers politely and provide friendly service.
• Process cash, credit, debit and gift‑card transactions at the register.
• Prepare hot and cold food items, including sandwiches, salads, soups and specialty trays.
• Operate commercial equipment such as slicers, fryers and ovens.
• Write product orders, receive deliveries and rotate stock.
• Stock and maintain product showcases.

Required profile

• Quick learner able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Team‑oriented with strong customer‑service focus.
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 10 lb regularly and up to 50 lb occasionally.

Required skills

• POS system operation.
• Commercial slicer and equipment handling.
