Datacenter Technician – 8‑Week Project in Mackenzie, BC

About the role

We are seeking a Datacenter Technician for an 8‑week project in Mackenzie, BC, supporting the physical build‑out of a large‑scale GPU data centre. The role is entry‑to‑junior level and works under the guidance of a senior Network Technician to execute high‑volume rack‑and‑stack and cabling tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform rack‑and‑stack operations, including installing servers, networking equipment and patch panels.
• Prepare, pre‑bundle, route and label fiber optic and structured copper cables according to build plans.
• Install and organize cable trays, trays work and perform labeling and documentation.
• Follow rack elevation diagrams and written instructions to ensure accurate physical infrastructure deployment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to quality and process standards.

Required profile

• Up to 3 years of experience in data centre, telecom, IT infrastructure or structured cabling.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a pod in a physically demanding environment.
• Physical capability to stand, walk and lift up to 50 lb and perform overhead work for extended shifts.
• Valid passport and willingness to travel to and stay on‑site for the full project duration.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with fiber optic and structured cabling.
• Knowledge of rack‑units, cable trays, patch panel organization and cabling standards.
• Proficiency in rack‑and‑stack procedures and cable labeling.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of $30‑$40 (CAD) per hour.
• Travel and lodging covered, plus a $75 per day allowance.
• 40‑hour work weeks with up to 8 hours of overtime, morning and afternoon shifts.
• Schedule of two weeks on‑site followed by half a week off.
