Data Scientist

About the role

Stripe is seeking Data Scientists to partner with product, finance, payments, security, risk, growth, and go‑to‑market teams. You will help shape the company’s strategy, products, and user experiences by applying advanced analytics, machine learning, and statistical techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop and deploy machine‑learning models and statistical analyses.
• Design and run experiments to evaluate product features, growth initiatives, and marketing investments.
• Forecast key business outcomes, manage liquidity, and quantify risk exposure.
• Optimize charge flows, prevent fraud, and improve user experience through data‑driven insights.
• Synthesize complex analyses into actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• PhD + 3 years, MS/MA + 6 years, or BS/BA + 8 years of data‑science or quantitative‑modeling experience.
• Proficiency in SQL and a programming language such as Python or R.
• Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience in machine learning, statistics, optimization, product analytics, causal inference, or experimentation.
• Demonstrated ability to work with cross‑functional teams and communicate results clearly.
• Track record of managing multiple projects with high attention to detail and solid business acumen.
