Data Science and Health Research Coordinator

About the role

The University of British Columbia is seeking a Data Science and Health Research Coordinator to support the Department of Medicine’s Research Office. This two‑year fixed‑term position will manage the Data Science and Health Research Excellence Cluster and provide administrative, grant development, and strategic project support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative and grant development support for the Department of Medicine’s research activities.
• Coordinate the Data Science and Health Research Excellence Cluster, including meetings, workshops, and communication materials.
• Gather and disseminate information on data access processes and common data infrastructure needs across UBC and health research organizations in BC.
• Identify funding opportunities, assist with applications, and support preliminary data analyses.
• Develop and proof research communications, educational programs, and strategic project plans.

Required profile

• Experience in research administration, grant coordination, or related academic support roles.
• Strong knowledge of research policies, regulatory guidelines, and funding mechanisms at local, provincial, and federal levels.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
