Data Processing Analyst – Publishing (Ocean Tariff)

About the role

The Publishing Analyst (Data Processing Analyst) ensures accurate, compliant, and timely publication of ocean transportation tariff data that customers rely on for global trade. Based in Ottawa, the role supports Descartes’ Ocean Transportation Rate Management and Publishing Services by converting complex shipment information into the company’s proprietary systems.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain high‑quality tariff filings that meet Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) requirements.
• Publish ocean tariffs and service contracts accurately and on schedule.
• Validate data integrity to reflect customers’ commercial agreements.
• Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding tariff data.
• Collaborate with ocean carriers, 3PLs, shippers, and intermediaries to ensure compliance with automated filing processes.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of FMC regulations and ocean freight terminology is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Descartes’ proprietary data processing systems.
• Experience handling large data sets and performing data validation.
