Data Centre Designer

About the role

The client, a Calgary‑based EPCM consulting firm, is expanding its data centre practice and needs a Data Centre Designer to lead the design of hyperscale and enterprise facilities across North America. You will create detailed 3D models, produce construction documents, and support multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout all project phases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex 3D models and construction drawings using Revit and BIM tools.
• Prepare site layouts, equipment arrangements, floor plans, sections, elevations, and general arrangement drawings.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical models within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Participate in clash detection reviews, model coordination meetings, and design reviews.
• Support the creation and upkeep of BIM standards, templates, libraries, and project workflows.
• Incorporate design changes while keeping models, drawings, and documentation accurate.
• Produce coordinated drawing packages for client review, permitting, procurement, fabrication, and construction.
• Assist with as‑built documentation and model updates throughout execution.

Required profile

• Mid‑senior level experience in industrial or data centre design.
• Proven ability to work independently and deliver high‑quality design packages.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with engineers, project managers, clients, contractors, and vendors.

Required skills

• Advanced Revit proficiency.
• Solid understanding of BIM workflows and clash detection.
• 3D modeling expertise.
