Cybersecurity Analyst – Ontario Higher Education

About the role

Systematix is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to support Ontario’s higher education sector. The role will work directly with universities and colleges across Ontario, providing strategic advisory services and hands‑on operational support to strengthen cybersecurity posture, governance, risk management, and incident preparedness.

Key responsibilities

• Assist participating institutions with cybersecurity programs, roadmaps, and risk‑management activities.
• Deliver guidance on security initiatives, facilitate knowledge sharing, and enhance security capabilities across the community.
• Conduct security, risk, and control assessments, and support incident‑response and recovery planning.
• Collaborate with institutional stakeholders, security teams, and industry partners to align security practices with best‑in‑class frameworks.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT.
• Direct experience supporting a university, college, or higher‑education institution in Ontario.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity threats, attack methods, threat actors, and emerging trends.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
